Thank you for an incredible season at Big Rock.
After 65 days of operation, we are officially wrapping up the season.
It was a year of firsts for many of our team as we made snow, operated groomers, and opened the mountain for the first time together. We learned a lot, worked hard, and yes, made a few mistakes along the way (opps on freezing up the snowmaking line on Uncle Bud’s) and are incredibly proud of what our staff, volunteers, and community mountain accomplished.
This season, we welcomed 2,975 Ski4Life visits, hosted ski races, community events, and live music, all culminating with a Slush Rush weekend that felt like a true outdoor celebration of the community.
We completed our capital project to build a new quad chairlift to the top and upgrade snowmaking capacity from 400 to 1,600 GPM. With just under $6 million invested into our community nonprofit $4.3 million came from federal, state, local and private grants; $1.3 million from our generous community as donations, and $268 thousand remains as debt. We now have modern chairlifts, state-of-the-art snowmaking, two groomers and have identified areas where we can improve even further, and that work begins this summer.
As we look ahead, our focus is simple: continue progressing Big Rock to deliver the best skiing and riding experience possible for our kids, families, and community.
Thank you to everyone who made this season so special. To our skiers and snowboarders, our staff, volunteers, Board of Directors, and donors, thank you for an incredible season!
