Welcome to the 2006 to 2007 year at Big Rock. With the vast array of new activities coming up this year, there should be something for everybody to enjoy at Big Rock.
Mother nature has not helped us thus far with snow but snowmaking is in progress. We have a new anticipated date of opening of December 16, 2006. Keep your fingers crossed that Mother Nature will help us out in this area.
We will be providing the Christmas Race Camp from December 27 through December 29.
If you have a young skier 18 years old or younger that would like to participate in a race program, the Big Rock Youth Ski League is for them. This is a great way to start racing by learning how to ski gates, learn techniques and race against other skiers your age and have lots of fun on Sunday afternoon. The start date of the BYSL League is January 7, registration at 12 noon and classes/racing starts at 1 p.m. This league will end on March 4.
Other programs your child may want to register for are:
Elementary School Development on Saturdays from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m.
Middle School Race Development on Saturdays from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 3:00 p.m.
High School Race Development on Sunday mornings from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m.
For the adults who like to race, we have the night for you. The Coca Cola Corporate Race League is a night for adults to race. Build a team of your skiing friends consisting of one female and come and race other teams from the area. This league starts on Thursday, January 25 and will end on March 25. On January 25 we will do time trials to get your summer legs into shape. The racing starts at 5 p.m. and ends at 8:30 p.m.
Our new activities this year include the opening of a snow tube park available to our skiers and nonskiers. This will be great fun for all. If you have a club, civic organization, church group, etc., and have 30 people or more, please contact Ryan Guerrette (207-425-2711) for prices of group rates. Call as soon as possible as many groups have already booked times for their outings. The anticipated opening date for the snow tube park is also on December 23.
For the snowmobiling enthusiasts, Big Rock will be hosting snowmobile hill climbs. These will be on Saturday evenings. Registration will begin from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., supper at 6:00 p.m. and racing at 7:00 p.m. This will be a side-by-side double elimination race with a Junior/500/600/700/Open classes. There will be a $10 entry free per class.
If you do not know what to give somebody this year for Christmas, birthday or special event, consider giving a gift certificate to Big Rock which could be used for the tube park, skiing, or lunch. For gift certificates, please contact Ryan Guerrette at 207-425-6711.
The Ladies’ Night Out is an evening for woman 18 years of age and older to come together for an evening of skiing, eating and making new friends. There will be a fee of $5 each evening and the Big Rock Café will offer discounted meals that evening or you may bring your own.

Big Rock is pleased to announce the start of the Need to Sk Programi. We have received contributions from area businesses as sponsors or co-sponsors so that a child may receive a free season pass at Big Rock and ski rental for a year. This is a great opportunity for a child to receive a free pass and rental that has never skied before and enjoy a great winter sport.
